RAAL was awarded a subcontract by the HKSAR’s Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), the AGL Maintenance Department of HKIA, to assess the overall condition of the over 20-year-old Frangible Approach Light Masts.

Four (4) numbers of the oldest Masts installed in HKIA (Masts 07R-05, 07R-13, 25L-01 and 25L-04) were chosen for the assess their foundations and the Mast Structures for any severe oxidation, pitting, corrosion, damage, dents, scratches, and the tightness of mounting bolts and nuts. This inspection ensures the masts remain reliable and safe to be used for another 3 additional years.
